INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE 

Throughout my internship with the International Rescue Committee, I managed a caseload of clients and connected them to a variety of social services in Miami-Dade and Broward Country. Many of my clients were youth migrants who had fled conflict in Central America. As a former undocumented Latina, this experience was very humbling and allowed me to engage with a non-profit organization that provides direct support to immigrants and their families. It broadened my sense of global awareness while also developing my skills as a global citizen, as I worked to make an impact on the lives of each of my clients. I hope to work with the IRC again in the future and plan to stay involved as a volunteer.
